English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid, from Ibn Abi Dhi'b, from al-Harith ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Salama — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If he gets drunk, flog him. Then if he gets drunk again, flog him. If he returns a fourth time, strike his neck." Al-Zuhri said: "A man who was drunk was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the fourth time, and he let him go."
