English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn Qudama al-Jumahi, from Ishaq ibn Bakr ibn Abi al-Furat, from Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi, from his father — that the Prophet ﷺ said: "The hypocrites have signs by which they are known: their greeting is a curse, their food is plunder, their spoils are stolen, they do not approach the mosques except reluctantly, they do not come to prayer except at the end arrogantly. They neither show affection nor are shown affection — logs by night, clamorous by day."
