حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَب
ِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا أَوَى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَلْيَنْفُضْهُ بِدَاخِلَةِ إِزَارِهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي مَا حَدَثَ بَعْدَهُ وَإِذَا وَضَعَ جَنْبَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, from al-Maqburi — that the Prophet ﷺ said: "When one of you retires to his bed, let him dust it with the inside of his lower garment, for he does not know what came after him on it. When he lays down, let him say: 'In Your name, O Allah, I lay down my side, and by You I raise it. O Allah, if You take my soul, forgive it, and if You release it, protect it with that by which You protect Your righteous servants.'"
