حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ
أَبِي قَيْسِ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ الطَّاعَةِ وَفَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ فَمَاتَ فَمِيتَتُهُ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ وَمَنْ قَاتَلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ يَغْضَبُ لِعَصَبَتِهِ وَيُقَاتِلُ لِعَصَبَتِهِ وَيَنْصُرُ عَصَبَتَهُ فَقُتِلَ فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ وَمَنْ خَرَجَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي يَضْرِبُ بَرَّهَا وَفَاجِرَهَا لَا يَتَحَاشَى لِمُؤْمِنِهَا وَلَا يَفِي لِذِي عَهْدِهَا فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَسْتُ مِنْهُ

English Translation
Yazid informed us, Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, from Ghaylan ibn Jarir, from Abu Qays ibn Riyah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever leaves obedience and separates from the jama'ah (community) and dies, his death is a death of jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance). Whoever fights under a banner of tribal partisanship, getting angry for tribalism or calling to tribalism, and is killed, his killing is that of jahiliyyah.'
