English Translation

Mu'adh ibn Hisham narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from Qatadah, from Zurarah ibn Awfa, from Sa'd ibn Hisham, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah عز وجل says: I have declared war on anyone who shows hostility to a friend (wali) of Mine. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him. And My servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary acts of worship until I love him.'
