Hadith #220
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرُ الشُّرَكَاءِ فَمَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا فَأَشْرَكَ فِيهِ غَيْرِي فَأَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ لِلَّذِي أَشْرَكَ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, I heard al-'Ala narrating from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ narrated from his Lord عز وجل that He said: 'I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I remember him in Myself. If he remembers Me in a gathering, I remember him in a gathering better than it.'
