English Translation

Abu Dawud narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Nadr — meaning Ibn Anas ibn Malik — from Bashir ibn Nahik, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Whoever frees his share of a jointly-owned slave, and he has enough wealth to pay the price of the slave, a fair price is evaluated for the slave and the rest of his shares are freed from his money. Otherwise, he has freed what he has freed (only his share).'
