English Translation

Abu Kamil narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought food that was not from his family, he would ask about it. If he was told it was a gift, he ate. If he was told it was charity, he said to his Companions: 'Eat' — and he would not eat it himself.
