حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا تَعُدُّونَ الشَّهِيدَ فِيكُمْ قَالُوا مَنْ قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّ شُهَدَاءَ أُمَّتِي إِذًا لَقَلِيلٌ الْقَتْلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْبَطَنُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ

English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Who do you count as the martyr among you?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the one who is killed in the cause of Allah is a martyr.' He said: 'Then the martyrs of my ummah would be very few. The one killed in the cause of Allah is a martyr, the one who dies of plague is a martyr, the one who dies of a stomach disease is a martyr, and the one who drowns is a martyr.'
