Hadith #373
Arabic Text
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَحَاجَّ آدَمُ وَمُوسَى فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي أَغْوَيْتَ النَّاسَ وَأَخْرَجْتَهُمْ مِنْ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ أَنْتَ مُوسَى الَّذِي أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ عِلْمَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَاصْطَفَاكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَتَلُومُنِي عَلَى أَمْرٍ كَانَ قَدْ كُتِبَ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَفْعَلَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ أُخْلَقَ قَالَ فَحَاجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمَا وَسَلَّمَ
English Translation
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Adam and Musa debated. Musa said to him: You are Adam who led people astray and caused them to be expelled from Paradise. Adam said to him: You are Musa whom Allah chose with His message and with His direct speech; do you blame me for a matter that was decreed upon me before I was created? Thus Adam prevailed over Musa in the argument.'
