Hadith #374
Arabic Text
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَمَا أَيُّوبُ يَغْتَسِلُ عُرْيَانًا خَرَّ عَلَيْهِ جَرَادٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَجَعَلَ أَيُّوبُ يَحْثِي فِي ثَوْبِهِ فَنَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ يَا أَيُّوبُ أَلَمْ أَكُنْ أُغْنِيكَ عَمَّا تَرَى قَالَ بَلَى يَا رَبِّ وَلَكِنْ لَا غِنَى بِي عَنْ بَرَكَتِكَ
English Translation
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'While Ayyub عليه السلام was bathing naked, golden locusts fell upon him. Ayyub began collecting them in his garment. His Lord called out to him: O Ayyub, have I not made you self-sufficient so that you have no need of what you see? He said: Yes, by Your Honor! But I can never be free of need of Your blessing.'
