حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أُكَيْمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى صَلَاةً جَهَرَ فِيهَ
ا بِالْقِرَاءَةِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَعْدَمَا سَلَّمَ فَقَالَ هَلْ قَرَأَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ مَعِي آنِفًا قَالُوا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنِّي أَقُولُ مَا لِي أُنَازَعُ الْقُرْآنَ فَانْتَهَى النَّاسُ عَنْ الْقِرَاءَةِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا يَجْهَرُ بِهِ مِنْ الْقِرَاءَةِ حِينَ سَمِعُوا ذَلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, who said: I heard Ibn Ukayma narrate — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed a prayer in which he recited aloud. Then he turned to the people after giving salam and said: "Did any of you recite with me just now?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "I was wondering why I was being contested in my recitation of the Quran." So the people stopped reciting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in prayers where he recited aloud, when they heard that from him.
