English Translation
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: 'While a man was walking on a road, his thirst became severe. He found a well and descended into it and drank. He came out and found a dog panting and eating the moist earth from thirst. The man said: This dog has reached the same state of thirst that I had reached. He descended into the well, filled his shoe with water, held it in his mouth, and climbed out. He gave the dog water to drink. Allah thanked him for that and forgave him.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is there reward for us regarding animals?' He said: 'In every living creature there is reward.'
