English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Salamah, narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Musa (عليه السلام) was a modest man who used to cover himself, and nothing of his skin was seen due to his modesty. Some of the Children of Israel harmed him and said: He only covers himself because of a defect in his skin, either leprosy, hernia, or some other ailment. Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted, wanted to clear him of what they said.'
