English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'There was a man who had never done any good deed. He said to his family: When I die, burn me, then crush my remains and scatter half of me in the sea and half in the land. By Allah, if Allah has power over me, He will punish me with a punishment He has never given anyone. When he died, they did as he requested. Allah commanded the earth: Gather what is in you. And the sea: Gather what is in you. Then He said: Why did you do that? He said: Out of fear of You, O Lord, and You know best. So Allah forgave him.'
