Hadith #211

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ سُلَيْمُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ مَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي جَبْهَتِهِ وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَأَنَّمَا الْأَرْضُ تُطْوَى لَهُ إِنَّا لَنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُكْتَرِثٍ
English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu Yunus Sulaym ibn Jubayr, the freed slave of Abu Hurayrah, narrated to us that he heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not wish for death. The believer is only granted more good by living longer, and the evildoer may be granted respite to repent.'
