English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Zayd, narrated to us, from al-Muhajir, from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ with some dates and said: O Messenger of Allah, supplicate to Allah to bless them for me. He gathered them, then supplicated for blessing in them. Then he said to me: 'Whenever you want to take from them, put your hand in and take from them without scattering them.' I carried several wasqs (loads) of them in the cause of Allah, and we would eat from them and give from them, and it never left my waist until the day 'Uthman (رضي الله عنه) was killed, when it was cut off.
