Makki narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Majid ibn Suhayl ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not sell gold for gold except equal for equal, and do not give more of one over the other. Do not sell silver for silver except equal for equal, and do not give more of one over the other. And do not sell something absent for something present.'
