'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Wasil, from Yahya ibn 'Uqayl, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever sits in a gathering in which there is much idle talk and says before leaving: Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ashhadu an la ilaha illa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You), he will be forgiven for what occurred in that gathering.'
