English Translation
Al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, he said Sufyan informed us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: A man had a debt owed to him by the Prophet ﷺ, and he spoke harshly to him. The Companions wanted to deal with him, but the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Leave him, for the creditor has the right to speak. Buy him a camel and give it to him.' They said: 'We only find one older [and thus more valuable] than his.' He said: 'Buy it and give it to him, for the best of you are those who are best in paying their debts.'
