حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ دَ

اوُدُ بْنُ فَرَاهِيجَ أَخْبَرَنِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ مَا كَانَ لَنَا طَعَامٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ

English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said Dawud ibn Farahij informed me, he said I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: We had no food during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except the two black things: dates and water.
