English Translation
Fazarah ibn 'Amr narrated to us, he said: Fulayh informed us from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on a military expedition. The Muslims ran out of provisions and were in need of food. They asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to slaughter the camels, and he permitted them. 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) heard about this, came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, their camels carry them and deliver them to their enemy — they would slaughter them? Rather, O Messenger of Allah, call for the remnants of their provisions and supplicate to Allah (عز وجل) for blessing in them." He said: "Indeed." So he called for the remnants of their provisions, and the people came with whatever they had left and gathered it. Then he supplicated to Allah (عز وجل) for blessing in it, and called for their containers. He filled them all, and there was much left over. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger. Whoever meets Allah (عز وجل) with these two testimonies without doubt shall enter Paradise."
