حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ بَشِيرِ ب
ْنِ نَهِيكٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِقْصًا لَهُ فِي عَبْدٍ فَخَلَاصُهُ فِي مَالِهِ إِنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ اسْتُسْعِيَ الْعَبْدُ غَيْرَ مَشْقُوقٍ عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us from Qatadah, from al-Nadr ibn Anas, from Bashir ibn Nahik, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "Whoever frees his share of a jointly-owned slave, his full freedom is to be completed from his (the emancipator's) wealth if he has the means. If he does not have the means, the slave should be asked to work to earn his freedom without being overburdened."
