English Translation

'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Hisham narrated to us from Yahya, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "The previously-married woman should not be married until she gives her consent, and the virgin should not be married until she gives her permission." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is her permission?" He said: "Her silence."
