حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ الْمَعْنَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَمْعَانَ قَالَ أَتَانَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ قَالَ ثَلَاثٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْمَل
ُ بِهِنَّ قَدْ تَرَكَهُنَّ النَّاسُ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ مَدًّا إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَيُكَبِّرُ كُلَّمَا رَكَعَ وَرَفَعَ وَالسُّكُوتُ قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ قَالَ يَزِيدُ يَدْعُو وَيَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ

English Translation
Yahya narrated to us from Ibn Abi Dhi'b — and Yazid ibn Harun said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b informed us, with the same meaning — he said: Sa'id ibn Sam'an narrated to us, he said: Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) came to us in the mosque of Banu Zurayq and said: "Three things the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to practice that people have abandoned: he would raise his hands fully when entering the prayer, he would say takbir every time he bowed and raised, and he would observe a brief silence before reciting — supplicating and asking Allah of His bounty." Yazid said: "supplicating and asking Allah of His bounty."
