حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَا

لِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ لِعَبْدِهِ عَبْدِي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ فَتَايَ وَلَا يَقُلْ الْعَبْدُ لِسَيِّدِهِ رَبِّي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ سَيِّدِي

English Translation

Waki' narrated to us from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'None of you should say to his servant: My slave ('abdi). Rather, let him say: My young man (fataya). And the servant should not say to his master: My lord (rabbi). Rather, let him say: My master (sayyidi).'
