حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ كَ

انَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ فَرَأَى عُمَرُ امْرَأَةً فَصَاحَ بِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعْهَا يَا عُمَرُ فَإِنَّ الْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ وَالنَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ وَالْعَهْدَ حَدِيثٌ

English Translation

Waki' narrated to us, who said: Hisham ibn 'Urwah narrated to us from Wahb ibn Kaysan, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn 'Ata', from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ was at a funeral when 'Umar (رضي الله عنه) saw a woman and shouted at her. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Leave her, O 'Umar, for the eye sheds tears, the soul is stricken, and the loss is recent.'
