‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وَكِيعٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏لَهُ سَكْتَةٌ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ‏

English Translation

Waki' narrated to us from Sufyan, from 'Umarah ibn al-Qa'qa', from Abu Zur'ah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ used to have a brief silence in the prayer (between the opening takbir and the recitation).
