حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفْضَلُ الصّ
َدَقَةِ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ وَقَالَ يَحْيَى مَرَّةً لَا صَدَقَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى
English Translation
Yahya narrated to us from 'Abd al-Malik, who said: 'Ata' narrated to us from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'The best charity is that which is given from surplus wealth. The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin with those you are responsible for.' Yahya once said: 'There is no charity except from surplus wealth.'
