Hadith #212

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى يَهُودَ فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى جِئْنَا بَيْتَ الْمِدْرَا
سِ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَادَاهُمْ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ أَسْلِمُوا تَسْلَمُوا فَقَالُوا قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ ذَاكَ أُرِيدُ ثُمَّ قَالَهَا الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُجْلِيَكُمْ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَرْضِ فَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنْكُمْ بِمَالِهِ شَيْئًا فَلْيَبِعْهُ وَإِلَّا فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَسُولِهِ

English Translation
Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Layth informed us, he said: Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id narrated to me, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: While we were in the mosque, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and said: "Let us go to the Jews." So we went out with him until we came to Bayt al-Midras (their house of study). the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and called out to them: "O assembly of Jews, accept Islam and you will be safe." They said: "You have conveyed your message, O Abu al-Qasim." He said: "That is what I want." Then he said it a third time and said: "Know that the land belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and I intend to expel you from this land. Whoever among you has property, let him sell it. Otherwise, know that the land belongs to Allah (عز وجل) and His Messenger."
