Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, he said: 'Uqayl ibn Khalid narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, who said: Abu Bakr ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith informed me that he heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood for prayer, he would say takbir when standing, then say takbir when bowing, then say 'sami'allahu liman hamidah' (Allah hears the one who praises Him) when raising his back from the bowing, then say while standing 'rabbana lakal-hamd' (our Lord, to You belongs all praise), then say takbir when descending into prostration, then say takbir when raising his head, then say takbir when descending into prostration again, then say takbir when raising his head. He would do this throughout the entire prayer until he completed it, and he would say takbir when standing from the sitting position after the first two rak'ahs.
