حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلّ
َمَ أَوْ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي وَعَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ مُرَجِّلًا جُمَّتَهُ تُعْجِبُهُ نَفْسُهُ إِذْ خُسِفَ بِهِ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَقَالَ حَجَّاجٌ إِذْ خَسَفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Hajjaj narrated to us, they said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ — Hajjaj said in his narration: I heard Abu Hurayrah say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — or Abu al-Qasim — said: "While a man was walking in a fine garment, combing his locks of hair, admiring himself, the earth was made to swallow him, and he will continue sinking into the earth until the Day of Resurrection." Hajjaj said: "Allah caused the earth to swallow him."
