English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Leave me alone as long as I leave you alone, for those who were before you — the People of the Book, or those before you — were destroyed by their excessive questioning and their disagreements with their prophets. Whatever I command you, follow it to the best of your ability, and whatever I forbid you from, leave it — or avoid it."
