Hadith #270
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كُلُّ الْعَمَلِ كَفَّارَةٌ وَالصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ, who narrated from his Lord (عز وجل): "Every deed (of the son of Adam) is an expiation (for his sins), and fasting is for Me, and I shall reward for it. The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk."
