قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى ابْنِ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ فَسَلَّمَ مِنْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَقَامَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ فَقَا
لَ أَقَصُرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمْ نَسِيتَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ فَقَالَ قَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ أَصَدَقَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ فَأَتَمَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ

English Translation
I read to 'Abd al-Rahman: Malik; and Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Malik narrated to us, from Dawud ibn al-Husayn, from Abu Sufyan — in the narration of 'Abd al-Rahman — the freed slave of Ibn Abi Ahmad, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in 'Asr prayer and gave the salam after two rak'ahs. Dhu al-Yadayn stood and said: "Has the prayer been shortened, O Messenger of Allah, or did you forget?" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "None of that happened." He said: "Indeed it did, O Messenger of Allah." the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to the people and said: "Is Dhu al-Yadayn speaking the truth?" They said: "Yes." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ completed what remained of his prayer, then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness while sitting.
