حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ

سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ نَعَى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّجَاشِيَّ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ فَخَرَجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَصَفَّ أَصْحَابُهُ خَلْفَهُ وَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهِ أَرْبَعًا

English Translation

Yahya narrated to us from Malik, who said: al-Zuhri informed me from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ announced to us the death of al-Najashi (the Negus) on the day he died. He went out to the prayer ground, lined up his companions behind him, and made four takbirat over him.'
