حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ كُتِبَ لَهُ قِيرَاطٌ فَإِنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُقْضَى دَف
ْنُهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ أَصْغَرُهُمَا أَوْ أَحَدُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَتَعَاظَمَهُ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ صَدَقَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَقَدْ فَرَّطْنَا فِي قَرَارِيطَ كَثِيرَةٍ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever prays over a funeral, he is credited with one qirat. And if he follows it until it is buried, he is credited with two qirats, the smaller of which — or one of which — is like (Mount) Uhud." When that reached Ibn 'Umar, he was astonished by it. He sent to 'A'ishah to verify, and she said: "Abu Hurayrah has spoken the truth." Ibn 'Umar said: "We have missed many qirats!"
