Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَثَّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدّ

َقْ بِهِ عَلَى زَوْجَتِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى وَلَدِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى خَادِمِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ آخَرُ قَالَ أَنْتَ أَبْصَرُ

English Translation

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ encouraged charity. A man said: "I have a dinar." He said: "Spend it on yourself." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Spend it on your wife." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Spend it on your child." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Spend it on your servant." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "You know best (where to spend it)."
