English Translation
Waki' narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Three people Allah will not speak to on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He look at them, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment: a man who has excess water in the desert and withholds it from a traveler; a man who gives his pledge of allegiance to a leader only for worldly gain — if the leader gives him what he wants, he fulfills it, and if not, he does not; and a man who sets up his merchandise after the 'Asr prayer and swears by Allah: I was given such-and-such for it, and the buyer believes him.' — and he mentioned the hadith.
