حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ إِنَّ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ دَاوُدَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَطُوفُ اللَّيْلَةَ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ فَتَلِدُ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يَضْرِبُ بِالسَّيْفِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَمْ يَسْتَثْنِ قَالَ ف
َطَافَ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ عَلَى مِائَةِ امْرَأَةٍ فَلَمْ تَلِدْ مِنْهُنَّ غَيْرُ امْرَأَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَلَدَتْ نِصْفَ إِنْسَانٍ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَوَلَدَتْ كُلُّ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ غُلَامًا يَضْرِبُ بِالسَّيْفِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Hisham informed us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: Indeed Sulayman ibn Dawud (عليه السلام) said: 'Tonight I will go to a hundred women, and each one will bear a boy who will fight in the cause of Allah.' The angel said to him: 'Say: If Allah wills (in sha Allah).' But he did not say it. So he went to them, and none of them bore anything except one woman who bore half a child. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Had he said: If Allah wills, he would not have broken his oath, and it would have been a means of achieving his desire.'
