Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اخْتَصَمَتْ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَقَالَتْ الْجَنَّةُ أَيْ رَبِّ مَا لَهَا يَدْخُلُهَا ضُعَفَاءُ النَّاسِ وَسَقَطُهُمْ وَقَالَتْ النَّارُ يَا رَبِّ مَا لَهَا يَدْ
خُلُهَا الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ قَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ مِنْكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُنَّ مِلْؤُهَا قَالَ فَأَمَّا الْجَنَّةُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ أَحَدًا وَإِنَّهَا يُنْشَأُ لَهَا مِنْ خَلْقِهِ مَا شَاءَ وَأَمَّا النَّارُ فَيُلْقَوْنَ فِيهَا وَتَقُولُ { هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ } وَيُلْقَوْنَ فِيهَا وَتَقُولُ { هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ } حَتَّى يَضَعَ رَبُّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِيهَا قَدَمَهُ فَهُنَالِكَ تَمْتَلِئُ وَيَنْزَوِي بَعْضُهَا إِلَى بَعْضٍ وَتَقُولُ قَطْ قَطْ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Hisham informed us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Paradise and the Fire disputed. Paradise said: O Lord, why do only the weak and lowly of people enter me? And the Fire said: Why do only the arrogant and haughty enter me? So Allah (عز وجل) said to Paradise: You are My mercy; I show mercy through you to whomever I will. And He said to the Fire: You are My punishment; I punish through you whomever I will. And each of you shall be filled.'
