Hadith #370

English Translation

Yazid narrated to us, Juhayr ibn Yazid al-Abdi informed us, from Khidash ibn Ayyash, who said: I was in a circle in Kufa, and there was a man narrating. He said: We were sitting with Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) and he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The first among the people to be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who was martyred. He will be brought and shown what Allah gave him, and he will recognize it. Allah will say: What did you do with it? He will say: I fought for Your sake until I was martyred. He will say: You lied. Rather, you fought so that it would be said: He is brave. And so it was said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face and thrown into the Fire.'
