قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ ا
للَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ أَنْصِتْ فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ

English Translation
He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i recited to 'Abd al-Rahman: Malik — and Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us — from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'By Him in Whose hand is my soul, one of you will never enter Paradise by his deeds alone.' They said: 'Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Not even me, unless Allah envelops me with His mercy. So strive to be correct and moderate, and do good in the morning and the evening, and during some of the night. And stick to moderation, moderation — you will reach [your destination].'
