حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ قَالَ تُوُفِّيَ أَخِي وَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ إِنَّ أَخِي تُوُفِّيَ وَتَرَك
َ عِيَالًا وَلِي عِيَالٌ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا مَالٌ وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ بِعِيَالِي وَعِيَالِ أَخِي حَتَّى نَنْزِلَ بَعْضَ هَذِهِ الْأَمْصَارِ فَيَكُونَ أَرْفَقَ عَلَيْنَا فِي مَعِيشَتِنَا قَالَ وَيْحَكَ لَا تَخْرُجْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

English Translation
Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri narrated to us, Abu al-Nu'man 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Nu'man al-Ansari narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of al-Mahri, who said: 'My brother died and I came to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه). He said: "Come with me, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people. The most beloved deed to Allah عز وجل is bringing joy to a Muslim, relieving him of distress, paying off his debt, or driving away his hunger.'"'
