English Translation

Al-Nadr ibn Isma'il Abu al-Mughirah al-Qass narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah, from Abu Sa'id (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'While a man from among those who came before you was on his deathbed, he said to his children: What kind of father have I been to you? They said: The best of fathers. He said: Indeed I have never done any good deed. When I die, burn me, then grind me, then scatter me on a windy day. So they did that. Then Allah (عز وجل) gathered him and said to him: What made you do what you did? He said: Fear of You, O Lord. So Allah forgave him.'
