حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْدِيِّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْ
خُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ بَعْثًا إِلَى بَنِي لِحْيَانَ مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ فَقَالَ لِيَنْبَعِثْ مِنْ كُلِّ رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا وَالْأَجْرُ بَيْنَهُمَا

English Translation
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Harb ibn Shaddad narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, that Abu Sa'id, the freed slave of al-Mahdi, narrated to him, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed this matter (the caliphate) belongs to Quraysh. No one opposes them except that Allah throws him on his face, as long as they establish the religion.'
