Hadith #233
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ الْعَوْفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ كَيْفَ أَنْعَمُ وَصَاحِبُ الصُّورِ قَدْ الْتَقَمَ الصُّورَ وَحَنَى جَبْهَتَهُ وَأَصْغَى سَمْعَهُ يَنْتَظِرُ مَتَى يُؤْمَرُ
English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from al-A'mash, from al-'Awfi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ used to say: 'How can I be at ease when the bearer of the Horn has placed the Horn to his lips and bent his forehead, listening attentively, waiting for when he will be commanded to blow?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what should we say?' He said: 'Say: Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. Upon Allah we have relied.'
