English Translation
Khalaf ibn al-Walid narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, al-Mu'alla ibn Ziyad al-Qurdusi narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Your world and its delights and its adornments will be presented before Allah (عز وجل), and He will say: 'O My servants, I have given you these blessings, so how did you use them?' They will say: 'O Lord, we collected them, increased them, and left them more than they were, so return us to them that we may gather them for You.' He will say: 'You will not return until you show Me what you have prepared from them — charity and righteous deeds.'"
