English Translation

Safwan ibn 'Isa narrated to us, Unays ibn Abi Yahya narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us during his final illness and we were in the masjid. He leaned against a pillar. He said: "Indeed I fear for you after me regarding the adornments and beauties of this world that will be opened to you." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, can good bring evil?" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was silent. It was said to the man: "What is wrong with you? You speak to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he does not speak to you!" Then we noticed that revelation was descending upon him. When he recovered, he wiped the sweat from his face and said: "Where is the questioner? Indeed, good does not bring evil. Rather, among what the spring produces is what kills through excess or nearly kills, except for the animal that eats greens until its flanks are full, then faces the sun and defecates and urinates, then returns to eat. Whoever takes wealth rightfully will be blessed in it, and whoever takes wealth without its right is like the one who eats and is never satisfied."
