حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ خَطَبَ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ الصَّلَاةُ قَبْلَ ا
لْخُطْبَةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ تُرِكَ ذَاكَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ قَضَى مَا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ مُنْكَرًا فَلْيُنْكِرْهُ بِيَدِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ وَذَاكَ أَضْعَفُ الْإِيمَانِ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Qays ibn Muslim, from Tariq ibn Shihab, that Marwan delivered the khutbah before the prayer [on Eid]. A man said to him: "The prayer comes before the khutbah." Marwan said to him: "What was done in that regard has been abandoned." Abu Sa'id (رضي الله عنه) said: "As for this man, he has fulfilled his duty. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; and if he cannot, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.'"
